Position and dimensions of motifs

The standard width dimensions are the maximum dimensions for motifs, which shall “fill in” the print items (e.g. T-shirts). The dimensions described below are based on our expertise and experience. However, they sometimes may vary. For instance, in case there are both adult and children sizes within one order, it might be necessary to reduce the print size.

It is important to emphasize that the standards below are just for guidance. We never define the precise position regarding the distance between neck stitch and motif on our layouts. We always look at the specific item and adjust the position as needed. The position of a motif cannot be the same on a male and a female model, neither on an S and XL size. The layouts we send to our customers, shows typically L-size unless another size was ordered.
The dimensions (width and height) of the motif, we write on our layout, are approximate and can vary according to the quality and characteristic of the used garment.
  

T-Shirts

Front- and back print

The upper edge of a front or a back print motif shall be 8-10 cm below the neck stitch of the T-shirt. Standard print width is about 28-30 cm for adults, 24 cm for children. For circular or triangular motifs the standard print width is 23-25 cm.

Chest print

The center of a chest print motif shall be 15 cm below the neck stitch of the T-shirt and 10 cm to the left (left chest) or to the right (right chest), from the center of the T-shirt. Standard print width is about 8-10 cm and for circular or triangular motifs is about 7-8 cm.

TV print and neck print

The upper edge of a TV-print or a neck print shall be 2 cm below the neck stitch of the T-shirt. Standard print width is about 7-10 cm.

Print on sleeves

The lower edge of a sleeve print motif shall be 2 cm above the sleeve stitch of the short-sleeved T-shirt. On long-sleeved T-shirts, the motif may be placed either in the same distance from the shoulder as on short-sleeved T-shirts, or down (close to he hand), 2 cm above the sleeve stitch. Standard print width is about 8-9.5 cm and for circular or triangular motifs is about 7-8 cm.

Sweatshirts

The upper edge of a front motif shall be 8-10 cm below the neck stitch of the sweatshirt.

Bags

Print on bags are placed about 5 cm from the stitches and the bottom. Keep in mind that the printable surface may be reduced on the sides and in the bottom when the bag is folded.  Standard print size is 30 x 29 cm (width x height).
